Why choose LCS for Intermediate:
Our intermediate classroom is very spacious and well resourced. Unlike larger intermediates, we offer smaller class sizes which means learning can be personalised and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.
We have a BYOD (1:1 devices) programme which enables students to create, learn and share their learning. Our programme offers high expectations and consistent behaviour management strategies. We use Banqer (financial literacy reward system) as an engaging strategy which makes connections to the real world.
We value the importance of learning outside of the classroom and offer a camp for our intermediate students each year, as well as lots of day trips. Our Year 7-8 students get to go offsite weekly to participate in Technology programmes with other rural schools.
Living Our Learning:
Living our Learning is a programme designed specifically for our Year 7-8 students.
They complete activities based around our six future focused skills:
-
Problem Solving
-
Critical Thinking
-
Collaboration
-
Citizenship
-
Creativity
-
Communication
The students work through activities to receive their Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards. Badges are presented for Silver and Gold awards.
A Platinum project is the pinnacle of intermediate education at LCS. Students plan, manage and produce projects that have benefits to their school and wider community. They receive a trophy at the end of the year.
About LCS:
Only 6 mins drive from the Fitzherbert bridge, Linton Camp School offers our tamariki all the same benefits that a larger intermediate school has, but in a much smaller, community context! We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students thrive.
Our school is committed to providing a comprehensive education that prepares students for success in their future endeavours. Our graduates go to all local high schools and we consistently get feedback from these schools as to how well our students do there.
You don't have to be Army whānau to attend LCS! About 70% of our school is, but there are also a lot of local families from around Linton and a bunch who drive out from Palmy too.
